There is no surface preparation as such — this is a concrete mix design measure rather than an applied system. Preparation is instead about the mix: dosage established against cement content, and batching arranged so it is added by weight rather than estimated on site.

    Establish dosage against cement content

    Water-cure the concrete

    Extended water curing lets the pore structure develop, which is where the reduced permeability actually comes from.

    Combine with a barrier where water is under pressure

    Used alongside a membrane on water-retaining and below-grade structures, never instead of one. The admixture reduces permeability; it does not bridge a crack or seal a joint.
