COST / MUMBAI

Swimming Pool Waterproofing Cost in Mumbai

Pool waterproofing is priced per square foot of wetted surface. Before any of it is worth spending, the circuit should be pressure-tested — a substantial share of pool water loss is pipework and fittings, and relining a sound shell will not stop that.

Our published rate

To be confirmed

We have chosen not to publish a figure we cannot stand behind for your specific building. What follows is more useful anyway: what actually moves the number, and how to compare two quotations honestly.

COST DRIVERS

What actually moves the number

In rough order of how much they typically matter.

Circuit testing first
Cheap to do and can avoid an entire relining scope that would not have fixed the problem.
Immersion-grade specification
Permanent submersion in treated water is a demanding duty and the materials cost accordingly.
Fittings and light niches
Each needs individual detailing and they are the recurring leak points.
Out-of-service period
Preparation, application, cure and refill all with the pool closed — the commercial cost for a hotel or club can exceed the works.
Tile reinstatement
Often the largest element where the pool is being re-tiled.
SCOPE

What a quotation should and should not include

Normally included

  • Draining and shell preparation
  • Crack treatment and internal angle fillets
  • Immersion-grade barrier to specified thickness
  • Reinforcement at fittings and junctions
  • 72-hour fill test against an evaporation reference

Normally excluded

  • Tiling and finishes
  • Plant, pipework and fittings replacement
  • Water for refilling
  • Structural repair to the shell
RED FLAGS

Warning signs in a cheap quotation

None of these prove bad faith. All of them mean the two quotations in front of you are not for the same work.

  • No pressure test of the circuit before quoting a reline
  • A non-immersion-grade product proposed for permanent submersion
  • No fill test, or a fill test with no evaporation reference
  • Tiling proposed before the barrier has fully cured
THE WORK ITSELF

What swimming pool waterproofing involves

Swimming pool waterproofing lines the pool shell so treated water cannot escape into the structure and so chemically treated water cannot attack the concrete. It must tolerate permanent water immersion, chlorine or salt chemistry, and the movement of a filled and emptied shell, then accept tile or a finish over the top.

QUESTIONS

Cost — questions we get asked

Why will you not publish a rate for this?

Because a rate quoted without seeing the building is either meaningless or misleading. The condition of the existing structure changes the number more than anything else, and it cannot be assessed over the phone. We publish what drives the cost instead, so you can interrogate any quotation — including ours.

What makes two quotations for the same job differ so much?

Almost always the invisible work. Cheap to do and can avoid an entire relining scope that would not have fixed the problem. Beyond that, the items most often trimmed are preparation, curing time and testing — none of which are visible at handover and all of which decide whether the system lasts.

What should I check before accepting a quotation?

That it states thickness, curing period, junction and penetration detailing, and what testing is carried out before anything is covered. A quotation that omits all four is not comparable to one that states them, whatever the headline rate says.

Is the site inspection chargeable?

No. The inspection and the itemised scope that follows are free and carry no obligation. You are free to take that scope to any contractor.

Get an itemised quotation you can actually compare

An engineer visits, establishes the real condition, and gives you a rate-wise scope. A housing society committee can put it line by line to a general body meeting.
